Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I’m supporting kiwi women by raising money for The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
I've chosen to run the Christchurch marathon on 4th June not only to raise money and support Kiwi women with breast cancer but also out of respect for my sister who was diagnosed with grade 2 breast cancer last year. While we hoped the lump she had found was benign the pathology tests showed it to be much larger than first thought and had spread to her lymph nodes. This changed the treatment plan quite significantly in that she has now had two operations and is halfway through six rounds of chemotherapy to be followed by radiotherapy on her breast and underarm (lymph nodes).
My personal journey of running this marathon will be a tough one but nothing compared to what women with breast cancer such as my sister are living through every day. The furthest I've run to date is 14km, on 4th June I'll be running 42 km. Every dollar you can donate will not only help with the fight against breast cancer but will also add to my motivation and resolve to get out there and complete this race.
Thank you for reading my story.
Please consider making a donation today, anything will help. I cannot do this alone but with your support we can make a difference.
