Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Last September I was diagnosed with breast cancer and within a week was undergoing a mastectomy. After the sudden death of my husband earlier in the year this seemed like another big challenge I was going to have to face alone. However, I was blown away by the incredible care and treatment I received in Dunedin along with the amazing love and support of friends, family and my church. I now feel strong enough to run the Dunedin half marathon in September 2018 - a year on from surgery. I am blessed, I have two gorgeous teenage sons who will run with me and support from friends at work and church who are challenging themselves to run too. However. The main objective is to raise as much money as possible to support NZ women in the fight against breast cancer.
Eight women a day are diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand. The money I raise from this page will be used to fund vital research projects and medical grants to help improve the survivorship of breast cancer in New Zealand. It will also help support kiwi women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer through services such as counselling and rehabilitation services.
Please help me support NZ women and make a huge difference in someone's life. Every little helps. I have set a conservative target - please feel free to smash this!!
