On Saturday November 16th my sons Chris and Michael, and I will be shaving our heads in support of women with breast cancer. The event will be MC'd by my husband Paul (chief follicularly challenged head shaver) and recorded and shared, for your enjoyment! Any funds we raise will be donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand.
Nine women each day are diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand, which means that each of you is likely know at least 1 person among your friendship group and family who has developed this disease. I (Jacqueline) have 1 close family member and 2 close friends who have been diagnosed with and treated for breast cancer with chemotherapy and/or breast removal.
I have one great friend who is currently living with metastatic breast cancer; she is unerringly positive and is an inspiration to me. They all are.
The Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand funds vital research projects and medical grants that will help to increase the number of women who will survive a diagnosis of breast cancer, in addition to providing much needed services such as counselling and rehabilitation programmes. I know that my friends have been very appreciative of these services.
Please consider making a donation today – anything will help. We cannot do this alone, but with your support we can make a difference.
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
