In May 2017 I will be walking 111km of the El Camino over 5 days (roughly a half marathon a day!!) to raise money for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF).
The NZBCF will use the money I raise from this page to fund vital research projects and medical grants to help improve the survivorship of breast cancer in New Zealand. It will also help support kiwi women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer through services such as counselling and rehabilitation programmes.
This cause is (and unfortunately was literally) very close to my heart! On 23 July 2015, aged 31, I was one of the eight New Zealand women who each day hear the words: ‘you have breast cancer’. The work of the NZBCF has had a major impact on the treatments I have received since and I’m looking forward to being able to give something back.
Not to mention the fitness challenge! This past year has taken its toll on my physical fitness so I’m looking forward to building up fitness again to be able to complete this challenge. If I can handle Chemo I can do this :)
Any contribution you are able to make to support me and raise funds for the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation is greatly appreciated.
