Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I’m raising money for The Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand (BCFNZ).
I never gave much thought to breast cancer, it didn't run in my family so I didn't need to worry, right? Wrong, last year I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. As my doctor pointed out I had two risk factors, I was a woman and I had breasts.
I don't recall much of what the doctor said after the word "cancer". Thankfully, BCFNZ provided me with an information pack and boy, did it came in handy. It included a book explaining different types of breast cancer, treatments, and even had places to write appointments/questions - and both added up quickly.
The packet also included a journal which helped me get some of the chaos out of my head. Being scared and confused, the information BCFNZ provided was a light in the storm. This is my way of saying thank you!
A message from BCFNZ:
Nine women a day are diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand. The money raised from this page will be used to fund vital research projects and medical grants to help improve the survivorship of breast cancer in New Zealand. It will also help support kiwi women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer through services such as counselling and rehabilitation programmes.
Please consider making a donation today, anything will help. I cannot do this alone but with your support we can make a difference.
