Thank you for visiting my fundraising page . I’m supporting kiwi women & men by raising money for The Breast Cancer Foundation New Zealand by running round the bays event last weekend . I've always been supporter reg. fundraising sports fundraising based events . My dad sadly passed away 2015 to secondary breast cancer after enduring lengthy battle . as always , I'm doing this in his honour with my sister Maddi .
Eight women a day are diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand . In New Zealand , around 25 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year .
Breast cancer in men is the same disease as affects women . Although most of the available information is directed at women it is generally relevant for men too , as the diagnosis , treatment and survival rates for both sexes is very similar.
All men need to know what signs of breast cancer to look for , and to report any breast changes to their GP . For most men , breast cancer doesn't come to mind when they notice a change in their breasts , which can delay diagnosis . Learn the signs of male breast cancer , so you can detect it early .
The money I raise from this page will be used to fund vital research projects and medical grants to help improve the survivorship of breast cancer in New Zealand . It will also help support kiwi women & men who have been diagnosed with breast cancer through services such as counselling and rehabilitation programmes .
Please consider making a donation today , anything will help . I cannot do this alone but with your support we can make a difference .
