General community events

Breast cancer doesn’t just affect kiwis in October it’s throughout the year with eight women a day diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand.

Take action against breast cancer by holding your own fundraising event, whether it’s a pink ribbon lunch, karaoke night, horse trek or local bake sale. Anything goes and you’ll be surprised at how much you can raise just by doing something you love!

Once you’ve decided what you’d like to do and have a plan in place, set up your online fundraising page so your friends, family, colleagues or guests can donate to your fundraising event. They can leave a message of support and they’ll receive an automatic receipt every time they donate.

Money you raise by holding a community event will go towards our awareness and education programmes. The Foundation is committed to raising awareness and educating New Zealanders of the importance of early detection of breast cancer, promoting the practice of breast awareness, educating medical professionals and encouraging regular breast screening mammograms from the age of 40.

What your donations could achieve:
$40 could help produce 100 breast books, educating women on signs and symptoms.
$100 could help deliver public or workplace breast health seminars.
$300 could help fund breast cancer education materials for GP’s and Practice Nurses.
